Hobbit House

Hobbit house was amazing. Wife and kids could not believe the "magic" of the place. HAd some hot tube time in the late afternoon and then kids pranced around the fire-pit armed with their smores sticks, squealing with laughter when a marshmallow went ablaze and turned black lie a lump of coal. My boys (6&8) loved the little pond and we fed the sun-fish with bread and crackers. Skyline drive was u the road and boys loved taking a short hike on some of the trails and kicking off shoes and waling in the stream. The pics and other detailed descriptions will surely cover the uniqueness of the house. *** In short, we got our I-pad junky kids to forget about them and play, run, explore, and enjoy nature. Saw some deer as well. We found a hatchet on a trail and I taught them how to chop wood (old tree already fallen to the ground). Lots of restaurants nearby. Only complaint was that I woke up with a slight foggy headache one morning.....apparently the night before the Hobbits has apparently snuck back into their house and drank most of my Maker's Mark 46 bourbon...sneaky suckers. Had a wonderful stay. Do yourself a favor and do something beyond the "normal".

We had everything we needed to decompress and enjoy being in and surrounded by nature. On the warmer days we were outside and when it snowed we watched from inside the cozy cabin (and covered hot tub). We even grilled in the snow because the area was covered. I felt all our needs were anticipated & was very happy with our experience. The kids already asked to return.

Hobbit House

This was our 2nd time staying at the hobbit house and the experience has always been wonderful. The atmosphere was so peaceful. We enjoyed the fireplace, the hot tub, the blue light in the very comfortable bedroom. The cabin was well furnished with all the appliances, even a reverse osmosis water tap and a wonderful sound system. This was our 4th time staying at cabins at deer run and we can't wait til we return. Our dog also enjoyed himself. Each time we return, there seems to be a new addition. There's also a wonderful kids area with a cutest kid's cabin as well.

Eagles Nest

his cabin is an absolute dream. The hosts have considered every detail. You won’t want to leave so book an extra night! We had o e question that came up on a Saturday evening and the host answered right away. Excellent service, super clean and cozy place with LOTS of room. MANY great outdoor spaces. The cabin was perfect in every way! The hosts have thought of every detail. We so wish we had booked another day; we didn’t want to leave. We loved your place & definitely plan to come back!

Eagles Nest

My family and I spent two nights at the Eagles nest cabin.

The hosts are great - very responsive, friendly, and accommodating. The cabin was really neat due to the unique "treehouse" design.
Everything is well thought out - from the hammocks and screened-in porch, to the outdoor lighting next to the fire pit area, to the gated grill and picnic bench area underneath the cabin.

This Airbnb was particularly great for us as we were traveling with our daughters (11 and 6) and they were particularly thrilled with the cabin and the surrounding property. They loved the kids playground and their own kid-sized cabin! I loved the swings for adults!! Because everything was so easy to use and seamless, it really added to our family quality time together. One example, getting a wood fire pit going for s'mores was so easy. There is also a small touch in the cabin which put a huge smile on our faces (hint: look around for small critters)!

This trip was really needed for us as we've spent the last year coping and managing the burden of this pandemic. It was the perfect getaway to recharge and bond as a family. We can't wait to come back for a longer stay next time! Thank you for having us!

Eagles Nest

Lovely cabin! Well appointed with all the amenities one would need to relax. A perfect little space with a good mix of cookware to whip up a nice meal. We loves the multiple screens porches and wrapped around balcony. Lots packed into a small space. A great location if you want to visit the National Park or Caverns, but you will be perfectly comfortable staying put at this oasis.

Hobbit House

We stayed here for two nights for our wedding anniversary and were very impressed with the house! The attention to detail was amazing, between the decorations and artwork, to the notes left around the house explaining how to use everything in the house. The house was clean and well maintained, and everything we needed was included. Perfectly cozy for two people.

Spotted Fawn

We stayed at the Spotted Fawn cabin for 3 days with family friends. The house was beautifully appointed and spotless. The amenities were wonderful and we made great use of the screened in porch. Normally AirBNBs have super cheap kitchen utensils, pots and pans but not here. The quality of the kitchen items made cooking a breeze. The beds were comfy and it was awesome having several bathrooms. The Kids Cabin and playground were a hit as well. What else can I say? It was lovely. We will be back!

The Hobbit House was such a unique and wonderful getaway! The owners were super responsive and the cabin was sparkling clean! There were so many little touches that made it extremely whimsical, accommodating and comfortable! We will definitely be back!

Eagles Nest

They really thought of everything! We spent the first couple of hours at the cabin exploring all of the little touches and subtle features of Eagle’s Nest! Beautiful cabin, plenty of room for us and our 2 dogs, all the amenities you could need, and very close to some excellent food spots in town for carry out when we didn’t feel like cooking! We (and the dogs) LOVED the screened in sunroom off the bedroom, to read, drink tea, and enjoy the quiet. We have already recommended Eagle’s Nest to friends, and we will definitely be returning!

This is really a gem - cozy cabin, wonderful screened porch where you can listen to the birds all day, great hot tub, and great outdoor area. We cooked quite a bit and the kitchen is very well setup with most everything you would need. Downstairs bedroom has the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in! Easily accessible to shendandoah - most of the hikes we wanted to do were around an hour or less from the Airbnb. We also loved the Elkton Brewing Co - definitely check it out if in the area!

Stayed here with my parents and 5 year old Labrador for a extended getaway. LOVED the house- everything was so clean, and the amenities were awesome. We used the hot tub & fireplace daily. Can’t wait to come back!

Hobbit House

The photos do not do the place justice! This has been the best Airbnb we have stayed in in YEARS. Where to begin? We were initially worried about finding the place because we arrived late at night but the signs and lights in the driveway/yard made the house impossible to miss. The second we opened the door it truly felt like we were transported to another world, a very cozy, shire-like world! The house had everything we could need, and then some. I truly appreciated all the little touches, every single time I'd wonder something like "where does this go?" "how do I use this?" there was a sign or entry in the house manual that explained everything. On top of that, this was the cleanest house rental I've been to in years! I loved the place so much, I'm planning on doing a family reunion at the Cabins At Deer Run post-COVID!

Eagles Nest

We really enjoyed our stay at the Eagles Nest Treehouse. The owners thought of everything! We especially loved the fireplace and the heater in the bathroom and the sitting area off the bedroom. It was all so cozy and comfortable. We also really appreciated that the treehouse was so clean. Not a speck of dust anywhere! We definitely hope to be back. Thanks again!!

Cuddly Cub

Our two-night stay at the Cuddly Cub Cabin couldn’t have been nicer! Check-in was seamless, and the place was spotless. The cabin is spacious, and we took full advantage of the great screened-in patio. It’s in a great location for those looking to visit Shenandoah National Park, and we used the guidebook left by the hosts for some solid local dining options. Highly recommended and looking forward to our next visit!

This was in a very safe and great location. The cabin was luxurious. The fireplace was relaxing, the hot tub was amazing! I would definitely recommend this place to couples, families, or group trips.

Hobbit House

The hobbit house is a stay you will never forget. Pictures don't do it justice. The amount of detail these hosts put into the home is truly amazing. There are so many unique touches in every part of the house. The way the ceiling in the bedroom was designed, almost looked like snow on the walls. And the LED lights made it such a pretty and soothing view to go to sleep to. The hot tub was amazing and its kept in a screen room outdoors so you get a lot of privacy. This was such an unforgettable stay. We can't wait to come back!

Eagles nest

The cabin was very beautiful. We were in awe when we first arrived and continued to be even more impressed as we explored the cabin. The attention to detail was impressive and everything you need for a comfortable stay was provided: utensils, small kitchen appliances, extra blankets, heater in the bathroom, etc. There's even built-in speakers throughout the cabin, both inside and outside. My toddler son had fun finding little toy creatures hidden around the cabin walls.  I sent a message to the manager about a porch light that had to be replaced and the manager sent someone from maintenance right away. The response time and attentiveness of the manager was excellent.
The location was also perfect as it's not too far from the entrance to Shenandoah. There were also a few restaurants not far from the cabin if you don't feel like cooking.Highly recommend this place!

Beautiful, cozy retreat! This particular cabin is large and well suited to groups and families. That being said, we took it as a couple and enjoyed all the extra space, handy as one of us was working. The wood, fire and warm, soft lights make for a lovely ambience. The hot tub is clean and well maintained. Kitchen is huge and generally well appointed. This is one of the very best we have stayed at in the area, and we do come back to this general area each year! It’s location is remote enough uet near enough to amenities for our taste. Beautifully landscaped property too!

Hobbit House

My husband and I did a last minute trip and stumbled across this cabin. Even though it was not our typical cabin in the mountain rental we decided something a little different would be fun since it was a last minute trip. All I can say is WOW!! The feeling you get when you drive up and enter the cabin for the first time. We found ourselves walking around the cabin for the first 30 mins saying things like " that's so cute" or "omg did you see this". Even though there are other cabins around you feel like you are all by yourself. Loved our stay and would definitely go back again!

Eagles Nest

One of the best Airbnb’s we have stayed at. Very fun place with all the amenities you would need/want. Love the bbq and fire pit area and swings. Kitchen was well appointed. We loved the hot tub on the deck and playground and trials. Great communication with the host. This is perfect for a small family or couple.

Cuddly Cub

This is a great location for a secluded getaway from city life. Though there are some other cabins nearby in this tiny cabin community, the brush, trees (and in one case, a camoflauged barrier) keep this property feeling relatively cozy and isolated.
10/10 on ameneties - the backyard fire pit, grill, and hot tub on the screened-in patio are highlights. Very well appointed kitchen with practically any basic utensil or other cooking implement one could need — just bring convenience items for food storage (e.g. ziplock bags, tupperware, whatever) and you’re set. We also appreciated that windows are screened to prevent insects from entering if one wants to enjoy a cool breeze indoors. The interior and property in general were immaculately clean when we arrived.
Overall, an excellent stay. Will strongly consider a return to this cabin (or others under the same management) in the future.

Hobbit House

You can expect a wonderful and relaxing stay here! The hosts were especially thoughtful in the little touches in the cabin. We used this as a base camp to explore the Valley. Perfect spot to come home to after a day hiking in the National Park, state park, or national forest.

The pictures for this cabin doesn’t give it justice at all! This beautiful cabin has such great open space I was taken away from there living room space. Not to mention how easy it was to clean & keep everything clean. Definitely recommend this cabin to whom every needs a getaway trip or to a family that loves nature and getting off the Electronics. Definitely trying to book once again & planning on staying at their other location like the hobbit house & their treehouse! Overall nothing to complain about and all good things all around.

Hobbit House

The Hobbit House was the best AirBnB experience that I've had. The place was unique while having everything that you could want (hot tub, sound system, etc.). My wife and I stayed for an entire week for our 25th wedding anniversary. If you are looking for a romantic place for hot tubing, sitting by the fire, and watching the deer go by over a morning cup of coffee, this is the place for you.

Eagles Nest Tree House

We loved the Eagles Nest! My family escaped to the country for Thanksgiving to make social distancing a bit more interesting. We were able to bring our 2 mastiffs (for a reasonable fee) which definitely made the cabin feel more like home. We are a family of three of above average height and we felt we had just enough space with our 100lb+ dogs. The cabin is definitely cozy but the thoughtful architecture of the interior and exterior spaces allows for enough 'hidden' nooks to get away from the group if you want some space of your own. There were plenty of amenities to allow us to cook a full Thanksgiving dinner and daily hot breakfasts. They mastered the pairing of modern creature comforts with a simple, cozy aesthetic. It was just right for a country escape for us city slickers! We also enjoyed the surrounding area, including the cow farm at the top of the road! While you're there, make sure to visit Shenandoah National Park - if nothing else, take the skyline drive for a bit! - and Luray caverns. My Xbox and YouTube addicted 9yr old son had a lot of fun in playing with the cabin amenities and getting out to explore nature.

Eagles Nest Tree House

This place is an absolute treasure! My husband and I enjoyed all the amenities this perfect place had to offer. It is secluded, private, and surrounded by beauty. Every nook and cranny is well though out. The place is charming, cozy, and incredibly clean. We had everything we needed in more. Our hosts were extremely responsive, helped us plan our trip and offered many suggestions for places to eat and things to do in the area. We will be back!!

Spotted Fawn

My husband and I had a great stay at the Spotted Fawn cabin while exploring the Shenandoah area. The location was great—about a 30 minute ride to Skyline Drive, 20 minutes to Luray Caverns, and close to other destinations. The house was super clean and well maintained. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all comfortable, clean, and stocked with linens and soap. And the kitchen was perfect for cooking meals. The hot tub and fireplace are also a great bonus after a long day of hiking! Overall, it was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy our honeymoon.

Lovely place! Exactly as pictured. The cabin is exactly as pictured, it's really a great space. The beds are very comfortable and we slept very well. The hot tub was much appreciated, as was the outdoor grilling space. The kitchen was well-stocked. Dogs and humans alike appreciated the walking trail. Very family- and pet-friendly. Close to several great activities: we went tubing, zip-lining and horseback riding at an EXCELLENT stable nearby. Everyone wants to return.

Cuddly Cub

We were so pleased to arrive and find the Cuddly Cub exactly as pictured. It was sparkling clean... not even a cob web in sight both inside and out on the porch! The hot tub was perfect and so nice to have inside the screened in area. We had a few bonfires and used the grill and everything we needed was there for us. The kitchen was very well equipped and we were able to prepare several awesome meals. I would suggest packing a few extra garbage bags and dishwasher pods if you do lots of cooking like we did. Loved the Hawksbill Brewing in Luray and Elkton Brewing Co that were not too far away. Management response to any questions or concerns was almost immediate!

Hobbit House

We loved our stay in the Hobbit House. It was cosy, stylish and quaint. We loved all the quirky decors and all the modern amenities, from the surround sound to the very comfortable king bed to the blue light ceiling in the bedroom. Our English bulldog enjoyed it too. We would love to come back when the weather is cooler to enjoy the fire pit and the hot tub.

My husband and I had a peaceful weekend getaway with our small dog. We loved the cabin, it was very clean, modern, and comfortable. We loved the bluetooth speakers throughout the house and on the screened in porch. We drove 30 min to Shenandoah National Park for hiking, and we brought our kayak and drove 5 min to the landing on South Fork Shenandoah River. We would definitely return again!

This was a lovely, well cared for cabin that’s off the beaten path but not remote - so easy access to restaurant delivery and takeout and about 20 min from civilization like Walmart and nature like Shenandoah National Park hiking. It was well stocked with nice touches like firewood and XM radio. Only flag is that if you’re planning to work from here and/or stream content, the internet/WiFi is not set up to handle it. I was able to a Zoom exercise class with minimal issues but the kids couldn’t stream Netflix at same time, for example. But hopefully you’re not there to work as the setting was lovely and a nice short walk in the woods outside plus a playground right across the gravel road. All in all a fabulous stay - thanks so much!

Hobbit House

Such a creative cabin!! Everything was so uniquely decorated to be in theme, overall just a very cool place to hangout for a few days. The cabin's wifi was pretty fast too (faster than expected, I brought a Verizon hot spot to do some work but didn't need to use it) and having the speakers connected across the whole cabin was so a great touch.

What an amazing place to stay! Hot tub is a whole different experience when you're relaxing in a tree house! Super clean, with very responsive management. We will definitely be back and maybe try the Hobbit House! Definitely Deserving of 5 stars!

Cuddly Cub Cabin

The cabin had everything we needed. Location was great. The spa was a nice after a day at Massanutten! The cabin was very cozy. If I had to complain about anything it was one neighbor cabin that had a bunch of loud girls that I trusted the silence of the woods (especially when they were making voice at midnight!) luckily they left the next day. Kitchen was perfectly stocked. Plan to come back again.

Spotted Fawn Cabin

Absolutely incredible! Recommending to our family and friends (and now planning on renting out their other cabins and treehouses on the street for a big get-together). This cabin was big, beautiful, and spotless upon arrival. Communication with management team was excellent. Favorite part was the glass fireplace - kept the whole house nice and toasty! Will def be back :)) - Leigh and Sergei

Hobbit House in the Shenandoah Virginia "Shire"

Thoroughly deserving of 5 Stars and the most impressive place we’ve stayed for many years. A lot of thought has gone into the design, build and furnishing of the Hobbit House and it certainly paid off. Nice touches like the crystal clear and clean hot tub, the firewood, many towels and other accessories made this a wonderful place to stay. We’ll definitely be back.

Hobbit House in the Shenandoah Virginia "Shire"

Hobbit house is adorable. The host replies promptly to any questions. Perfect for a quiet get away. Suggest minimum 3 nights. Couple local restaurants, but nice to cook and stay in as well. Comfortable furniture and bed. I would go back and stay longer.

Great spot, the pictures don't do it justice! We enjoyed sitting out both the front and back of the cabin watching the plentiful wildlife. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed, even a slow cooker and the place generally was clean and well appointed. The owner was very responsive when we had a problem with the hot tub and arrived to successfully fix the problem within minutes. The cabin is slap bam between two entrances to Shenandoah Park which depending on how you look at it can be a positive or negative, for us it was a bit frustrating as that's where we planned to spend most of our time, but it wouldn't put us off staying in this gorgeous place again.

Beautiful cabin! Perfect location! (Spotted Fawn)

The cabin was absolutely perfect. Beautiful home and perfect location. The cabin was fully stocked with all of the cooking utensils that we needed. The manager was quick to respond to questions and easy to work with from payment to check in / check out. We spent a couple of days here spending time with family and exploring the nearby area (Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Forest). Highly recommend Spotted Fawn! Best rental experience yet (Spotted Fawn)

This cabin deserves every 5-star review it has earned. The owner clearly cares about the guest's experience, and it shows in the thoughtfulness put into this cabin. The property is PRISTINE. If you are like me and read reviews for opinions on cleanliness -- go no further. The crew that takes care of this property does an amazing job, and I was comfortable immediately. We've been to rentals where I felt like I needed to clean the kitchen before I did anything -- not here. To this point -- I would never use a coffee machine, much less a Keurig, at a hotel or a rental property (they can grow things if not maintained!), but we did here. It was perfectly clean. The cabin is beautiful inside and out, and the automation that was included is awesome. Having the XM Radio in each of the rooms was great. The kitchen was very well stocked. I did bring one of my big pans, because it's always hit or miss with rentals, but the Spotted Fawn had everything we needed. I never knew how vital the screened-in porch would be to our lazy days, and it was perfect to keep us in the shade while hot, and to keep the bugs away in the evening. We lived out there. Plenty of seating -- so many large capacity cabins have sleeping for 12 but then a dining room table for 4. Why?? Having a 6+ table both inside and outside was wonderful. We did not feel cramped at all. I don't have enough good things to say about this cabin and our experience.

perfect escape (Cuddly Cub)

What a cozy yet perfect cabin! Let me start by saying how super clean the whole cabin is! I normally feel I need to clean before relaxing, however, it is not the case with this cabin. Even the coffee maker was like new and no crumbs in the toaster from the people before us. If it's not enough to say that the cleaning staff is meticulous, the owner has also furnished the cabin luxuriously, comfortably and beautifully. The property manager is super responsive to any questions and answered my text almost immediately even late at night. You will not go wrong renting this lovely space. We will return in the future!

Beautiful cabin; clean and comfortable! (Cuddly Cub)

We had a great weekend at the Cuddly Cub. We had 4 adults and 2 kids in our group and it was a good size. The location was quiet and peaceful - we spent a lot of time on the screened in porch, grilled, and made s'mores over the fire in the chimnea. The hot tub was nice too. There was a highchair and a pack and play available (bring a sheet - there weren't any there). The washer smelled moldy so we didn't wash anything but we let the owner know. I'm sure it will get taken care of, everything else was well cared for. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook and had both a regular coffee pot and Keurig. I hope we can come back again!
